The 35th Annual Wimberley Community Thanksgiving Dinner This beloved community tradition is entirely volunteer-run — and it can’t happen without you.

What’s new this year:

  • All volunteers are asked to register online and select their preferred job and time slot.

  • We’re introducing two volunteer shifts, so no one needs to work more than about 2 to 2½ hours.

  • We’ve added a separate “To-Go Meal Walk-Up” area (in the Senior Center section of the Community Center). Volunteers will help box and distribute to-go meals and desserts, as well as prepare meals for delivery.

Volunteer roles include:
Greeters • Servers • Drink & Dessert Helpers • Meal Delivery Drivers • Pre-Event Setup • Post-Event Clean-Up & Load-Out

All volunteer opportunities will be posted and open for sign-up beginning November 1st.

For full event details, visit the Wimberley Community Thanksgiving Dinner website.

This event is uniquely Wimberley — a joyful way to give back and celebrate together on Thanksgiving Day!

Schoolyard Dogs is looking for volunteers to help us run the concession stand at the Trail of Lights at the EmilyAnn Theatre again this year! We need 2–3 volunteers per night to help cook and serve hot dogs, chili dogs, and Frito pies — a Wimberley favorite!

  • Sundays–Thursday: 6–9 PM

  • Fridays & Saturday: 6–10 PM

Schoolyard Dogs is a local nonprofit that hires, trains, and employs developmentally and intellectually disabled adults to work on our food truck and in our kitchen. The Trail of Lights is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we truly can’t do it without community support.

If you can volunteer for a shift (or more!), please sign up here through Wimberley Volunteer NOW. Your help not only supports a great cause but also spreads holiday cheer to everyone visiting the Trail of Lights!

Thank you for making a difference,
